Slot Asserts He Is Secure and Retains Liverpool's Backing After PSV Defeat
Arne Slot acknowledged that it was natural for concerns to be raised about his future following a further heavy defeat versus the Dutch champions.
Liverpool suffered their ninth loss in twelve matches, representing the club's poorest run since being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

“I am feeling safe, I'm fine, I've received plenty of support from above,” the coach remarked.

He continued, “I accept my role. It is not the initial instance I’ve been in a challenging situation but it's necessary that we turned it around.”

Upon being questioned to provide details on his dialogues with the Liverpool hierarchy, Slot revealed:
“We communicate frequently. They are helpful for the squad and to me and we discuss these matters but they don't phone me every single minute each day to say they have faith in me.”
He mentioned, “During our regular discussions I perceive the trust. But I've not talked to them since this game yet so let’s see.”
Recurring Problems and Squad Reaction
The manager expressed regret over recurring failings from his Liverpool side in their European defeat, namely missed opportunities and conceding too easily.
Meanwhile, player Jones was more forthright in his evaluation of the current crisis.
“I don’t have the solutions. Truthfully, I don’t. I’m saying that to all,” Jones remarked.
“It's simply not good enough. I don't need to wait to think about it. I'm beyond being angry inside. I’m at the point currently where I just don’t have the vocabulary.”
